Painting
"Look,
it's my misery that I have to paint this kind of painting, it's
your misery that you have to love it, and the price of the misery
is thirteen hundred and fifty dollars."
~
Mark Rothko
The Technique: black acrylic paint is used to 'draw' the subject,
the same way as one would sketch with India ink. Then oil paint
is thinned down and applied as a stain, permitting the acrylic drawing
and the bright whiteness of the primed canvas to show through clearly
underneath.
