Drawing
"A
line is a dot that goes for a walk."
~
Paul Klee
The Technique: an ingenious little pencil, the Bohemia Works
Toison D'Or : 1900 7B. The lead is so soft that the final effect
emulates both the dark, greasy line of conté, with the dry,
whispy, "smudginess" of charcoal. Waterproof India ink
applied with a Chinese bamboo brush and bright splashes of watercolour
are also used. The bamboo brush, designed to be held perfectly perpendicular
to the surface, allows for greater variety of line depending on
how much downward pressure is applied.
