Paradise
Square (now covered by the Foley Square Courthouse,
in background), at the The
Five Points.
For Irish immigrants of the mid-1800's it was a hotbed
of poverty and violence. A fictional representation
of this era has been depicted in the film Gangs
of New York (tip: view the "enhanced"
version of this website).

The
star marks the Five Points. Paradise Square is marked
by the pink triangle.
(Old now-defunct streets in light grey. Many street
names have changed over the years).
Atratus has more information on the streets, plus
more
views of them.
